Tottenham 2-2 Wolves Match Report

Jorgen Strand Larsen scored a fine winner off the bench as Wolverhampton Wanderers drew their final league game of the year at Spurs. Wolves had beaten Manchester United on Boxing Day and followed it up with another impressive result here against Ange Postecoglou’s men.

The visitors drew first blood, with Hwang scoring in the 7th minute. Spurs were caught napping by a set-piece routine, with the unmarked Hwang unleashing a fine curling finish from distance to beat Fraser Forster.

Tottenham equalised with a set-piece goal of their own, with midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur nodding home from Pedro Porro’s corner.

The hosts were awarded a penalty just before half time when Brennan Johnson was fouled in the box, but skipper Heung-Min Son saw his penalty saved by Wolves keeper Jose Sa. Spurs eventually did get their goal though, with Johnson the scorer after being set up by Dejan Kulusevski.

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira emptied his bench in search of the equaliser, and it finally arrived in the 87th minute through Strand Larsen, with the Norwegian finishing well from a tight angle.

Spurs’ next game is against Newcastle United at home while Wolves will now square off against former manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest.
