Rangers 3-0 Celtic Match Report

Celtic suffered their first league defeat of the season as Rangers outclassed them 3-0 at Ibrox on Thursday. Despite the loss, Brendan Rodgers’ men still remain a whopping 11 points ahead of their bitter rivals.

A 7th minute goal from Ianis Hagi, son of Romanian legend Gheorghe, put Rangers 1-0 up in the game. The medio drilled one home from distance after Celtic defender Liam Scales had given away possession cheaply.

Vaclav Cerny then came close to scoring twice, but was denied by the woodwork on both occasions. Rangers’ second goal however did arrive from a Cerny corner, with Davy Propper scoring after Nicolas Raskin’s initial header had been blocked.

Danilo then put the icing on the cake with his 81st minute goal as Rangers ran out comfortable 3-0 winners. The margin could’ve been more on another day, and this was a much welcome victory for Philippe Clement as Gers boss.

Celtic managed just four shots in the entire game and barely tested Liam Kelly in the Rangers goal. Kelly was a late replacement for Jack Butland, who missed the game due to internal bleeding.
Celtic will now take on St.Mirren this weekend while Rangers will square off against Hibs.
