Tottenham pegged back Arsenal twice to earn a good point in the north London derby in a great game at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
In a frantic start to the game, Arsenal took the lead on 26 minutes when Bukayo Saka’s low curling shot was deflected into his own net by Spurs and Argentine defender Cristian Romero.
Tottenham searched for an equaliser forcing keeper David Raya into two fine saves from Brennan Johson. Then three minutes before half-time, James Maddison showed his class wriggling free of Saka and crossing for Son Heung-min to score with a fine finish.
Arsenal regained the lead on 54 minutes when Romero was penalised for a very unlucky handball following the intervention of VAR, Saka scored from the penalty spot registering his 3rd goal of the season.
Spurs, showed their new fighting spirit under manager Ange Postecoglou in his first north London derby. And were back on terms almost immediately when former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, lost possession near the halfway line to Maddison, who played in Son who made no mistake to level the game, in a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Emirates.
