Roberto Firmino scored a late equaliser as Liverpool came from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Arsenal at Anfield. It was all Arsenal in the early moments of the game, with Gabriel Martinelli giving them an early lead. Martinelli then turned provider as his cross was expertly headed in by Gabriel Jesus to put the visitors 2-0 ahead in the 28th minute
A confrontation between Granit Xhaka and Trent Alexander Arnold seem to spark Liverpool and the Anfield crowd into action, and Mo Salah pulled one back for the Reds just before half time.
The second half was all Liverpool, and Salah missed a golden opportunity to draw level from the penalty spot after Rob Holding was adjudged to have fouled Diogo Jota.
Firmino’s late header gave Liverpool a point, but it could easily have been all three if not for the heroics of Aaron Ramsdale in goal. The Arsenal keeper made fine saves to deny Darwin Nunez, Salah and Ibrahima Konate as the Gunners just about managed to hold on for a draw.
